Better, together.
On May 8, employees from across Red Wing Shoe Company came together for an inaugural Day of Service. 230 employees participated in 12 different activities in the Red Wing community logging a collective 460 hours of service. The impact? Parks and trails were cleaned, gardens were revived, community centers and youth camps were refreshed and organized, and houses were built!
But the impact of the day went beyond just the physical improvements to the community. As Red Wing employees worked together, they found that they were building connections with each other as well. Across departments and teams, individuals who had never met before were working together towards a common goal. They shared stories, laughter, and discovered new things about each other that they may not have known before.
This Day of Service is a powerful reminder of our collective impact. By bringing people together towards a common goal, we can create positive change in our communities and in ourselves. Collaboration rooted in a sense of belonging, inclusion, and trust, is the key to making a real difference.
